Our governor is threatening to do this in California. This is the kind of leadership that will be required to slow this looming nightmare. 2030 sounds fast for a state or a country but for city a lot more doable. It will be interesting to see how this is done. Is it a ban on registration of combustion-engine cars? Or is it a ban on combustion engine cars entering the city completely. Clearly, the former would create loopholes large enough for wily Parisians to crawl through. The latter would be a challenge for tourism and distribution networks.
